Wrightstown Elementary School
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports Plan
What is PBIS?
With PBIS, students are explicitly taught the expectations and procedures for each area of our school. PBIS strives to be a positive support system, where the adults in the school recognize good behavior and decision-making. PBIS is enforced school-wide by every member of the Wrightstown Elementary School staff.
WES Mission Statement:
Our mission is to create a safe, nurturing environment for all students. The PBIS team will foster and promote emotional, social, and academic learning by reflecting on our themes of being safe, respectful, and responsible.
Student Recognition:
Each day various staff members will present a Raven Reward ticket to students who demonstrate expected behaviors. After receiving a ticket, children will write their name in a Celebrity Book and choose a random number for the recognition board. When an entire row is filled, the student names included in that row will be included in the Principal's SMORE Newsletter and those students will receive a reward.
How Parents Can Help
Remind your child about the three expectations in school:
- Be Respectful
- Be Responsible
- Be Safe
These expectations have different meanings in different areas of the school. Please refer to the school-wide positive behavior matrix for specifics on how these positive behaviors present themselves in each area.
